First off, obviously the very end of John’s weekend blew everything else out the water with the news that Osama bin Laden has been killed. John can remember where he was when he first heard that news and just the shear sense of disbelief when he had heard the news. Like most people though, his happiness and celebration is somewhat overshadowed by concern and diligence for the weeks and months to follow…
On a lighter note, weekend was packed yet again, Friday started off with John visiting his alma mater, Tufts University, for the annual Tuftstonia Day which recognizes Tufts’ birthday every year… Saturday was spent working on a project that readers will be updated about as soon as it’s finished… Evening was spent watching a live action crane kick as Machida knocked out Couture on UFC… Sunday was busy with the Walk for Hunger, Dim Sum with his father, and Boston Comic Con 2011.
Quite heavy dose of C’s for John Lee this past weekend… Birthday dinner of a good friend Friday night at Bon Chon for some Korean fried Chicken… Caught the Celtics game there as well… Post dinner we played some extremely competitive Cranium, John’s team lost because he confused Single Ladies with Independent Woman… All of Saturday was spent at Anime Boston 2011 and the endless number of cosplayers… And Sunday was spent with work and watching the Celtics close out the Knicks
John Lee attended the PAX East 2011 convention this past weekend at the BCEC in Boston. The event started Friday and lasted through Sunday. It started Friday after work when Jen proceeded to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center for his second PAX East, he had gone last year to the inaugural PAX East event at the Hynes Convention Center. He really had no idea what to expect as last year he attended as part of the media and really just passed through the event last year. This year, he planned on fully soaking the PAX goodness.
John has been excited to go to PAX East for sometime now. He went last year as a member of the press and had plenty of fun. The highlight was placing third in a Street fighter IV tournament and winning a joystick. John looked to continue the streak with a subsequent fun-filled PAX East weekend. Basically his weekend is completely allocated towards PAX and looking to enjoy a fun-filled weekend of gaming, cosplayers and booth babes.
