For those of you unaware, John Lee is quite the TV junky. There weren’t many new shows that John got overly excited about. However, there were both surprises in his keepers and the shows he’s already decided to drop… who would have thought that a blonde in the Hamptons would leave John glued to his TV set every Wed night @ 10EST…
So good, that John needs to watch live, no DVRing.
Revenge
ABC
Good thing John works during the day or else this show might turn him on to daytime soaps and go all out Peggy Bundy or Gregory House mode. This show is like the Real Housewives of Melrose Place with a dash of the CWs <insert any show>. Its great how Eric van der Woodsen is on summer vacay from Gossip Girl and turns straight. The main antagonist’s son is soooo based off of Brody Jenner it’s sickening. Maybe LC should have been playing the lead blonde?
New Girl
FOX
What else is there to say, this has typical FOX comedy written all over. John’s not that familiar with Zooey Dechanel’s work, but she excels in this role. He can’t help but mumble sing along to the endless amount of guilty pleasure songs that Zooey’s character often sings. And if Zooey Dechanel is the main attraction of the show, the America’s favorite DB is an extremely close second. “Schmidt happens! You got some Schmidt on your face!”
Ringer
CW
Apparently, the power of the soap wannabee is John’s weakness. On the surface, this just seems like a rather unappealing show. But the countless twists and turns make this a fun ride. This isn’t as good as Revenge, but John can’t wait to see how things unfold…
2 Broke Girls
CBS
1 and 1/2 hot girls and 1 1/2 funny girls, not a bad combination. Hopefully they get rid of the horse in this show, kind of distracting.
The Secret Circle
CW
Gosh, to add to John’s CW lineup of Vampire Diaries, Nikita, Ringer, and Gossip Girl… The Secret Circle isn’t half bad. Think 90210 meets Charmed. Obviously this is based off the 1996 Neve Campbell classic, The Craft. It’s an interesting spin on it with the parents having the ability to do magic. It’d be pretty great if one of the kids had an aunt played by the lovely Shannen Doherty or Rose McGowan…
Gladly DVRing, always playing catch up on these.
Person of Interest
CBS
Ben Linus and this Eric Roberts lookalike clean up NY, pretty bad ass stuff, hopefully it remains interesting.
Up All Night
NBC
Will Arnett rocks, Chistina Applegate and Maya Rudolph are meh for the most part. Still good for some laughs
Pan Am
ABC
Has a lot of Lost elements in terms of character development and learning about all the characters. But these characters don’t seem to have the potential to be as interesting as our favorite Lostees, so unless there’s a bigger blacker smoke monster, hopefully these characters become more interesting, besides just nice eye candy =D
Death watch, literally hanging by a thread.
Charlie’s Angels
ABC
Ugh, John never checked out Friday Night Lights, hopefully Minka Kelly was good in that, because she’s abysmal in this. The other 2 girls are fine, and Bosley is meh. Maybe they should have made him homosexual or something, that would have been an interesting twist. But yea, this is like a slightly better version of the Pamela Anderson 90s show V.I.P.
The Playboy Club
NBC
This just barely made the Duds. While John still firmly believes this idea should have been on Showtime or at the very least an AMC, characters aren’t doing it for him, just lots of eye candy. Maybe this still has a chance…
Shows that John still needs to check out.
Terra Nova
FOX
Not sure how Jurassic Park every week can fail, hopefully it doesn’t let him down.
Homeland
Showtime
Claire Daines triumphant return, this is supposed to be good, hopefully John thinks so.
