Tuesday Tunes 5/10

Posted on by John Lee on May 10th, 2011 | 0 Comments »

John’s Tuesday Tunes for this week is another mixture of a bunch of genres. His Ultimate Playlist on YouTube is getting larger, but more important more complete. Still got a long way for him though…

  • Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers Intro Theme
  • One of the great classic cartoons of the 80s along with Ducktales and kind of Darkwing Duck.
    • Genre: TV
    • Year: 1989

  •

  • Chicago – You’re the Inspiration
  • This song is just really nice. John came across this song from the highly addicting Nintendo DS game, Elite Beat Agents.
    • Genre: Rock
    • Year: 1984

  •

  • Usher – My Way
  • Tough to choose from them, but most likely John’s favorite Usher song. So many to choose from, although U Got it Bad might come in a close second.
    • Genre: Hip Hop
    • Year: 1998

  •

  • Ben E King – Stand By Me
  • Quite the moving song. Works in so many situations, this collaboration video though was extremely touching.
    • Genre: Rock
    • Year: 1961

  •

  • Train – Hey, Soul Sister
  • John remembered these guys from 2001 with Drops of Jupiter, glad to see they weren’t just a one hit wonder and came out with this great song. It’s tough to get images of car commercials out of your head while listening to this though, no?
    • Genre: Rock
    • Year: 2009

  •

  • Aqua – Barbie Girl
  • Really don’t think it was possible to grow up in the 90s without not only listening to this song, but singing to it… nonstop.
    • Genre: Electronic
    • Year: 1997

  •

  • Olivia Newton John w/ John Travolta – Grease OST / Summer Nights
  • Such an overall happy song to listen to. Great song… to an even greater movie.
    • Genre: Stage & Screen
    • Year: 1978

  •

  • Offspring – Self Esteem
  • John’s favorite Offspring song. Awesome to watch X Games and when guys skate to this song.
    • Genre: Rock
    • Year: 1994

  •

  • Shinhwa – All Your Dreams
  • One of John’s all-time favorite Korean songs. Lots of distortion make this for a great song to pump you up.
    • Genre: Korean
    • Year: 2000

  •

  • Backstreet Boys – I Want It That Way
  • Best Backstreet Boys song, and easily the most recognizable one. Many don’t realize there was a version of the song that they didn’t come out with, it has some different lyrics, not as good as the original, but it mixes things up when you listen to I Want It That Way numerous times over….
    • Genre: Pop
    • Year: 1999

  •
