Killer Instinct 2; SNES nostalgia… Simon Cowell tells X Factor contestants NOT to sing Jason Mraz’s I’m Yours… some Japanese <3 for the rapper WISE and Kana Nishino; please donate to Japan relief… Bombarded by Franklin & Bash commercials on TNT starring Mark Paul Gosselaar; Saved by the Bell and the Five Aces were quite classic… Speed seems to always be on AMC nowadays, and a Bill & Ted’s Thrillogy is in talks!… One of the best Nike commercials, Second Coming, with a killer Juelz Santana beat… One of John’s all time fav trance songs from Andre Visior… Classic Backstreet Boys; the best boy band… and some love for Edward Maya’s ingenious integration of an accordion into an addicting song…
Killer Instinct 2 – Sabrewulf Theme
The funny thing is John never really played the Killer Instinct series much, but when he came across this stage music for Sabrewulf, he got hooked to this tune.
Genre: Video Game
Year: 1996
Jason Mraz – I’m Yours
潘瑋柏 - 不得不愛
John got on the Jason Mraz train late, this was obviously the song that got him on it. Such a nice and peaceful song. Love this little kid’s rendition.
Genre: Pop Rock
Year: 2008
WISE feat. Kana Nishino – Aenakutemo
Initially, John didn’t care for this song much, the girl had a nice voice, but the WISE rap part felt annoying. His voice sounded really autotuned, but after a while, John grew to really like this song and actually like’s WISE’s part the most. Kana Nishino is quite easy on the eyes as well.
Genre: JPOP
Year: 2009
The Del Vikings – Come Go With Me
Doo Wop doesn’t account for a huge amount of John’s music collection, but he absolutely loves the genre. Such good and happy music, a pure pleasure to listen to. John got turned on to this song by none other than the Five Aces… from Saved by the Bell. The Doo Wop episode that involved Zach hitting on Slater’s episode featuring the group performing as the Five Aces to various Doo Wop songs.
Genre: Doo Wop
Year: 1956
Speed Motion Picture Soundtrack – Main Theme
Quite the toss up for John for best Keanu Reeves between Speed and Bill .
Genre: Movie OST
Year: 1994
Beethoven – Moonlight Sonata
This piece might simply be my all time favorite classical song. .
Genre: Classical
Year: 1801
Juelz Santana – Second Coming
This commercial for Nike was quite memorable for John. Not only is the commercial great with displaying a Dream Teamesque group of players playing a pick up game in a hangar, but the music to go with it is great. Have to say though, the commercial is pretty outdated now as Jermaine O’Neal and Shawn Marion are among this superstar group.
Genre: Rap
Year: 2007
Andre Visior – Speed Up
There are some trance songs that need to build up, but this song has a great beat right from the beginning and it builds up even more throughout the song. Granted the video isn’t the best, can’t deny that this song is awesome. John actually has this on his “rushdown” playlist when playing Marvel vs Capcom 2
Genre: Trance
Year: 2002
Backstreet Boys – All I Have to Give
Hands down, one of John’s favorite groups. Another hands down, one of John’s favorite songs, although I Want It That Way slightly edges this song for all time BSB great songs.
Genre: Pop
Year: 1999
Edward Maya – Stereo Love
There’s a funny story to this song. John was introduced to this song real early by a good friend. The way John put it was that it wasn’t an instahit, but it might grow on him. The accordion part is a lil turnoff, but the high pitch echo vocal part is great. Yes, John would soon love this song and like the unique accordion part the most, he’s such a flip-flopper.
Genre: House
Year: 2009
