Tuesday Tunes 4/5

Posted on by John Lee on April 5th, 2011 | 0 Comments »

Britney appears to making another comeback…  Classic Geico Caveman commercial with the sick red motorcycle outfit, what were they ever thinking when they tried to do a sitcom…  Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s World Championship 2011 just out on the DS; that intro song to the original cartoon series is quite epic… Jean-Claude Van Damme in the Kung Fu Panda sequel; Lionheart was overlooked and the soundtrack was real nice…  Wrestlemania XXVII was this past weekend; Triple H vs the Undertaker was epic, but that DX theme song is a classic…

  • Taio Cruz – Dynamite
  • One of the more recent songs John has enjoyed.  He doesn’t listen to much music on the radio nowadays, but it’s hard not to move to this song.

    • Genre: R&B
    • Year: 2010

  •

  • Wilber Pan – Cannot Not Love (Bu De Bu Ai)
  • 潘瑋柏 - 不得不愛
  • Very nice tune, really enjoyable and soothing to listen to.

    • Genre: Mandopop
    • Year: 2005

  •

  • Capone-N-Noreaga – Y’all Don’t Wanna
  • An One of the best beats on the entire album, both of them just kill it on this song.

    • Genre: Rap
    • Year: 2000

  •

  • Yiruma – River Flows in You
  • Such a nice and soothing song to listen to.  Don’t believe he is well known, but he is extremely talented.  The flow, melody, and emotions that this piece bring up are incredible.

    • Genre: Classical
    • Year: 2001

  •

  • Britney Spears – Crazy
  • Easily John’s favorite Britney Spears song, and quite the guilty pleasure.  Oops I Did it Again might come in a close second for him, but this is quite the classic song.  This song has a great upbeat tempo to jump and dance to.

    • Genre: Pop
    • Year: 1999

  •

  • John Scott – Lionheart OST / Lionheart Theme
  • An Most people associate Jean-Claude Van Damme with movies like Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Timecop or even Double Impact.  However, most forget about Lionheart where he beats up on the pony-taled Attila at the end.  The movie, while it plays out like a modern day Kumite of sorts, actually has a pretty nice soundtrack.  This song instills some a nice emotion in the movie while JVCD bodies Attila.

    • Genre: Stage & Screen
    • Year: 1990

  •

  • The Sounds – Hurt You
  • CJohn, like most people, adored those Geico caveman commercials… until they got annoying, and they tried to make a sitcom out of it?!!?  But this particular Geico commercial had it all: sick motorcycle outfits, hot chicks, and one killer song.

    • Genre: Rock
    • Year: 2006

  •

  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Theme Song
  • Another one of John’s guilty pleasures.  John absolutely got addicted to this spiky haired anime card-dealing kid.  While the original cartoon was great, John hasn’t checked out the 5D spinoff, but heard it was even better than the original.

    • Genre: TV
    • Year: 2001

  •

  • Chris Warren – WWE DX Theme Song
  • Anyone who’s anyone has checked out the WWE at least a couple times.  And if you have done so in the past, you are aware of the greatest faction of all time, D-Generation X.  OK, maybe not the best faction of  all time, but hands down one of the best entrance themes ever! Suck It!

    • Genre: Rock
    • Year: 1997

  •

  • Robert Miles – Children
  • Such a classic song.  While he has many great tracks, Children sets an uplifting and inspiring tone.  It’d weird, but the word John associates with the song is: simple.  It’s not over the top, but yet it’s intricate when you listen closely as you just get drowned in the sounds.

    • Genre: Trance
    • Year: 1996
